Kidso

Flexibility and responsibility in an outsourcing team

Our distributed teams allow Kidso to supplement its development staff and scale up or down as backlogs fluctuate.

Kidso

Kidso is one of the leading online shops for kids that is selling in three different countries. The brand also has a network of brick-and-mortar stores. All assets are working smoothly in a centralized ecosystem. Kidso’s platform relies heavily on a robust backend software system that accommodates all their brand assets — and a lot of development resources.

As is often the case when searching for top-notched technical talent, Kidso found it difficult to fully staff its development teams. The company utilized contractors to supplement its internal development staff.

Seeking flexibility and responsibility in an outsourcing team

After experiences with other vendors yielded less than desirable results, Kidso sought a new partner – a trustworthy development service provider who can research and implement the most advanced features.

The Kidso team came to AirDesigns looking for a flexible workforce that could scale up or down with its business needs. Specifically, they were looking for reliable project management and highly-skilled developers who could give them the capability to create innovative new solutions and features. The new team had to join existing sprints and integrate seamlessly into the company’s team structure. Our team members’ technical proficiency has allowed us to deliver on that need.

The Challenge

The client wanted a development partner that could provide flexible, scalable and cost-effective outsourcing services to their engineering team.

Due to the large and complex nature of their platform, it was important for the partner to have a fast and effective knowledge transfer process.

The Process

  1. Learn about the whole platform capabilities and connections to other services and software by working with the client’s team.
  2. Analyze requirements and develop test scenarios.
  3. Develop and test releases in tandem with the client.
  4. Discussions and assessments of new features and functionalities

Delivering Scalability On-Demand

At any given time, multiple sprint teams of internal Kidso development staff and AirDesign employees are working through backlogs. Each team is focused on a specific Kidso task like integrations with ERP, marketing automation platform, review systems, and other marketplaces and thus is continuously enhancing the product. As the backlog evolves, Kidso staffs the team accordingly without having to go through a daunting and time-consuming hiring — or downsizing — process. The Kidso leadership team lets us know what specific skill sets they need for a given initiative and we’re able to match them with the appropriate AirDesigns staff member.
